My upper console is from Don Colie of Advanced Designs in Automotive Technology. I added the lighted switches and buttons after I got the console. Installation was pretty straightforward and the console sit pretty well. I got the switches from Mouser Electronics and are made by NKK and Mountain Switch.
A bunch of the switches on the console are functional. There is an on/off switch for power to the LCDs and lower console. The console controls aux. speaker (for vcr audio out), dimmer mode, display mode, engine start, wipers, LCD on/off, LCD image flip, and miles-trip-range settings. Most of the center push buttons make tone sounds when depressed.

I recently replaced the center push buttons with bigger illuminated ones from NKK.
The install of the new switches went pretty well. It was just a bit tedious to remove the old switches, enlarge the hole, install new switch, and then rewire it. I also added labels to the functional push buttons and rocker switches.
