KITT's switch pods are the cluster of buttons on either side of the steering yoke.  The switch pod unit is where the famous "Turbo Boost"  button was located in the show.

 My switch pod buttons are functional and control many features of my car, including stock car functions.  With the pod buttons I can control, the red scanner light, headlights, parking lights, fog lights, turn signals, 5 of my cameras, external speaker, VCR, and hatch release.  Since I have made use of most of my pod buttons, I don't have a "turbo boost' button.

The switch pod unit in my car was made by Don Colie of Advanced Designs. The fiberglass pod unit is Don's new design, but I am still using my original electronics for the switched.  The pod electronics are one of Don's 1st generation pod electronics, so they aren't 100% accurate to the show. 

The switches have only two LEDs per button as opposed to the 3 LED's seen in the show.  I plan on updating my pod units, once Don releases a functional version of his latest pod electronics.
