Probably the one question I get asked the most at shows is how I can drive
with a steering wheel like that. It's funny how much attention the gullwing
draws from the general public! It's actually not that difficult to drive with
the gullwing, especially with power steering.
I got my steering yoke from Don Colie of
Advanced Desings in Automotive Technology. I liked Don's gull wing design the best. His design
has a seperate face plate so that you don't see the hole where the steering wheel
adapter is.
Also, the Knight Industries logo doubles as the horn button.
As an added unique touch to my steering wheel, Don added a "KITT-X" label instead
of "Knight Two Thousand" as seen in the pilot episode. The gull wing is a blast
to drive with and I had no problem acclimating to it
