What respectable Knight Conversion would be complete without the famous scanner light? This is the feature of the car that always seems to grab to the public's attention. The first scanner I got was from Mark's Custom Kits. It was a very nice scanner, but when I decided to go with Don Colie's custom front nose, I also decided on his scanner instead.
I liked the sleek look to the Advanced Designs light bar. There are no unsightly bulbs hanging out the back of the light bar and the overall design looks like a factory piece. This scanner is freakin' bright too! I use a piece of reflective Plexiglass instead of the usual clear red Plexi.
The reflective Plexi is similiar to the kind used on brake lights, especially those third brake light set ups. I think the effect it gives is awesome and you don't see each individual bulb so clearly as you do with regular transparent Plexi.
For a while, I also added a piece of smoked Plexi in front of the red lens. This gives a nice "black out" effect when the scanner is turned off. I sometimes get bored with the red lens, so I swap out the lens with other colors. There is a picture in the photo book below that shows KITT-X with a green lens.

Recently I updated my scanner to a newer ADiAT version. Don's new design has the "all on" effect when starting up the scanner, "soul survivor" scan, and time delayed scans (great for car shows). I was able to reuse the original light bar and just updated the high power inferface (HPI) and control box. The new HPI mounts easily to the radiator support. Another quality product from Don Colie!
