After having the ram air style hood on my convsersion since 2001, I decided it was time for a change.  I figured it would be appropriate and neat to finally use the same style hood that KITT actually had in the show.

So, my search began for a hood.  I actually started looking and keeping an eye out for one in the Fall of 2008, but didn't look in ernest until winter 2009.  It was an "In Search Of" ad on the local Craigslist page that ultimately lead me to getting the hood.

The cowl hood I ended up getting was from a 1990 Firebird Formula.  It wasn't a functional hood, but that didn't really matter, nor did it matter that it was a pewter color since I was going to have it repainted anyway.  The hood was, however, in great shape with only a few minor dings on it.  The important thing is that there wasn't any rust!

I once again used D. Duncan Autobody to get the hood repaired and repainted.  The shop had to strip the entire hood of paint before the repairs begain.  Then the hood was primered and painted black to match the rest of the car.  Three coats of clear were put on and then hood was buffed and polished.  The final product came out great and I am very happy with the new addition to my car.
