In August 2000, I won an auction on eBay for a custom front nose. The nose was from Eric Shave of Wild copper and I didn't know any better then, so I bought it. I didn't try to mount it until January 2001. After I removed the stock bumper and attached the custom nose, I wasn't at all happy with the way the front nose looked and fit.
So, I removed it and placed an order with Don Colie of Advanced Designs in Automotive Technology. Don was a newcomer to the conversion business at the time. I took a chance and after talking with Don for a while, I placed an order for the custom nose. I was very pleased with the look and fit of the nose and it became the 1st of many conversion parts I eventually bought from Don.
With the stock nose off of the car, I removed the factory fog lights and mounted the new lights directly to the factory steel bumper. I then made use of the factory wiring to hook up the new lights. I was also able to keep the stock turn signals because they were already in the correct position.
The car looked pretty much as it is pictured to the left for the winter of 2001. I got the car repainted in May 2001 and the body shop did a great job of aligning the nose so that it looked like a factory piece.
For a while I had the fog light openings covered with smoked Plexiglas. I was very pleased with the look, but always wrestled with the problem of keeping them on for any length of time. Eventually the end up falling off and I loose the pieces on the road. So, for now I have removed the tinted covers. Also, right now I'm in the process of replacing my existing fog lights with Chevy Blazer type fog lights.
